About the resort

Ki-Ra’s palm-thatched tower slowly comes into view as you arrive to the property. Jungle lies on one side, while the Caribbean Sea provides the back drop to beautiful setting for restoration.

Ki-Ra means ‘birth-place of the earth spirit’ in Taíno. The indigenous Taíno people were expert healers and herbalists and the last to inhabit this site. Displaced in the 1400s by the invading Spanish, their spirit lives on here: the hotel and holistic spa offers yoga, massage, Ayurvedic medicine, detox and meditation.

The hotel's Mexican and Taíno-inspired style uses bold white and pink, with palm thatched roofs and soft lines. Pastel interiors are gentle on the soul. In the garden, think trees strewn with colourful hammocks and lanterns, a bright-blue seawater pool shared with tiny hermit crabs, fragrant trees, dancing butterflies and exotic birds.
